Steam Train Trips on the West Somerset Railway

The Railway, a true country branch line of the old Great Western Railway is full of fascination whether you are looking for a nostalgic ride back in time through lovely countryside or to study the railway and industrial heritage which this line preserves.

The West Somerset Railway is the longest standard gauge Heritage Railway in England. It runs 21 miles through beautiful countryside, taking in parts of the Bristol Channel coast.

These steam train trips can incorporate up to 10 picturesque stations from Bishops Lydeard, near Taunton to the seaside town of Minehead on the Somerset coast.

There are toilets on each train. Disabled persons accessible toilets are available at Bishops Lydeard, Crowcombe Heathfield, Stogumber Watchet and Minehead stations.
