All About Dylan Fundraising Dinner

We can all make a difference if you lend a helping hand.

Dylan A5 front

All about Dylan Fundraising Dinner – Saturday 21 July 2018

The nephew of our wonderful head receptionist Emma, was diagnosed with Global Hypoxia (severe brain damage) following a choking incident.

Dylan has significant hypoxic ischaemic brain damage, PAID syndrome, limb motor disorder – a combination of dystonia & spasticity, 3 types of epilepsy, bilateral hip dislocation and is severely sight impaired.

To help control the dystonia and spasticity Dylan receives ITB therapy. This is a pump inserted in his abdomen which dispenses the required drugs into his body over a month period. This equates to 10 different medicines dispensed every 4-6 hours throughout the day and 4 more are used as required. He has leg splints, hand splints and glasses.

Dylan is button fed a liquid diet of protein and fibre with small amounts of yoghurt, fruit puree and ice cream.

To get around, Dylan has a specialist wheelchair and a standing frame to help him with activities at school. At home he uses a special P Pod chair which allows him to sit up and has a special hospital style bed for sleeping.

He requires physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy. All of these are achieved through his school work with the supportof trained therapists.

With the help of this fundraising dinner, the hotel would like to upgrade Dylan’s P Pod chair which is made to measure. In addition, the family would also like to be able to buy Dylan a special computer called an Eye Gaze. It helps him at school but would make such a difference if he could have one to use at home too.

Come and join us for a great evening, knowing that by your support, it will be making such a difference to Dylan and his family.

Tickets for this worthwhile cause are priced at £30 each and include a welcome drink followed by a 3 course dinner, raffle and disco. Please call Zoe our Events Manager on 01749 836300 to book
